Instructor Profile

John Jeffreys is the founder and primary instructor of Bluewater Security Alliance. He brings 24 years of law enforcement experience, specialized training as an FBI-certified Public Safety Bomb Technician, experience as an explosive breacher, and a practical background in maritime security training.

During his career with the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, John has served in road patrol, field training, supervision, narcotics investigations, school safety, bomb squad operations, and Port Canaveral terminal assignments. His work has placed him in environments where leadership, judgment, communication, and decisive action matter.

From 2012 to 2019, John served as a Lead Instructor with MATE Training Company LLC, helping deliver professional instruction rooted in real-world law enforcement, security, and emergency response experience. That instructor background, combined with his work as a bomb technician, supervisor, investigator, and port security professional, allows him to connect policy, compliance, and field operations in a practical and effective way.

Bluewater Security Alliance was created to bring that experience directly to the cruise and maritime industry. BSA helps cruise lines, ports, terminal operators, maritime stakeholders, and security teams strengthen preparedness, improve response, and protect passengers, crew, vessels, and facilities.

His background supports critical areas of cruise industry security, including CVSSA training, threat recognition, suspicious item awareness, bomb threat response, crime scene preservation, evidence documentation, photography, emergency response, security leadership, and operational readiness.
